This illustration plays with the idea of children being afraid of monsters in their closets. It depicts normal children’s toys and clothes as monsters. This is meant to be reminiscent of when someone looks in a dark room, and can’t quite tell what an object is. The use of a purple glow is meant to help give them a more mysterious feeling.
